Netflix is the online service which lets subscribers watch movies by rental-by-mail and online streaming, and earlier we reported that the service would be coming soon to the PS3 console. But little did we know that it would be this soon. And Netflix has announced that subscribers can now instantly watch thousands of movies and TV episodes streamed to their TV sets via the PS3 system. This facility is available to Netflix members who have a PS3 system, at no extra cost.
The partnership between Netflix and PS3 aims at solidifying the system’s place as the most complete home entertainment hub. PS3 owners will now be able to enjoy their favourite movies and TV shows streamed directly from Netflix.
For just 8.99 USD (approx. Rs. 415) a month, Netflix members and PS3 owners can watch an unlimited number of movies and TV episodes, and they can opt for a free instant streaming disc for the PS3. The free instant streaming disc makes use of the Blu-ray’s BD-Live technology to access the internet and activate the Netflix user interface on the PS3 system.
