The well-known God of War series just got a little more interesting. There are three main installments to this exciting franchise which is based solely on Greek mythology. The action-adventure games are developed by Santa Monica Studio. Sony Computer Entertainment America now discloses that this holiday season, gamers will be able to get their hands on the latest God of War Collection. This offering is exclusively releasing for the PS3.
The acclaimed package comprises of revamped versions of God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray Disc at full 1280 x 720 resolution. These two titles were developed and released for the PS2 but are now remade with anti-aliased graphics which run at 60 frames per second. This delivers a smooth gameplay experience for the PS3 system. The collection will also enable PlayStation Network trophy support which is a first for the famous franchise.
“We are excited today to announce God of War Collection. Our fans spoke and we listened; thanks to our partnership with Bluepoint Games, fans and newcomers to the series can experience the epic God of War and God of War II saga in stunning 720p on PS3. This Blu-ray Disc compilation brings Kratos to PS3 even earlier than expected,” commented Scott Rohde, vice president, Worldwide Studios America.
The God of War series features epic mythological battles complete with stunning graphics and nail-biting storyline. The games in the trilogy put Kratos, a Spartan warrior in the limelight as he fights his way through scores of enemies. These also include mythical creatures like Titan, Colossus and Medusa. Players can follow the protagonist as he seeks revenge on the Gods for betraying him.
God of War Collection which consists of both the acclaimed games can be acquired for 39.99 USD (approx. Rs.1,950). The company also disclosed the release date for God of War III. The upcoming title is set to unleash its fury onto the PS3 by March 2010.
