Japanese gamers are a fortunate bunch! Besides the black PS3 that is available worldwide, they also have a choice to get a white one. Now Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) has sent word that they would be launching a 40GB PS3 in a new Satin Silver color in Japan.
The Satin Silver PS3 is being provided as an additional color to the existing PS3 (CECHH00 Series) line-up of Ceramic White as well as Clear Black. Sony has also stated that gamers will be able to make use of the DualShock 3 wireless controller on games like Ryu ga Gotoku KENZAN and echochrome.
The Satin Silver PS3 will be launched in Japan on March 6, 2008. It will come with a price tag of 39,980 yen (approx. Rs. 14, 725). The PS3 is compatible with the DualShock 3 wireless controller, which comes with a price tag of 5,500 yen (approx. Rs 2050). Sony has stated that they will keep on expanding the PS3 platform with an improved lineup of PS3 consoles and peripheral products.
