PS3 Crosses the Million Mark in PAL Regions

PS3 Crosses the Million Mark in PAL Regions A few weeks ago, we had posted that Sony had sold over 800,000 units of the PS3 in Europe. Now Sony has confirmed that over one million units of their next-gen console have been shifted in Europe and Australia.

David Reeves, President, SCEE said, “Early last week we went through the one million mark on PS3. And we did that in nine and a half weeks.” He also confirmed that Resistance: Fall of Man sold 600,000 units while Motorstorm raced past the 500,000 mark. Reeves revealed that the PS3 reached the one million mark faster than PS2 and PSOne.

Sony is also planning to launch a lot of PS3 titles around September and October. Reeves stated that around 460,000 gamers have already registered to the PlayStation Network. Sometime ago, figures released by NPD showed that around 1.3 million units of the PS3 were sold in North America. However, Sony will have to be more aggressive if it wants to overtake Microsoft and Nintendo.
