Developer Starbreeze and publisher 2K Games have released new screenshots of “The Darkness”, the horror action game on a comic book.
Valiant mafia hitman Jackie Estacado is all of a sudden haunted by the horrifying and amazing powers of The Darkness on the eve of his 21st birthday. Though his paranormal entity lets him wreak terrible havoc on his enemies, the Darkness also has a strong will of its own and now Jackie must learn how to be in charge of it. Gameplay features comprise of a flawless and unique mix of modern crime drama and supernatural horror with both first and third person non-linear sequence, as well as highly destructible environments that allow players to stalk the rough New York slums, harbors, subway tunnels and rooftops, then overcome the frightening creatures of The Otherworld, a parallel reality where the Darkness resides.
The Darkness will release in 2007 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
