Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Gets Its Nintendo Switch Release Date

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Vicarious Visions’ beautiful remake of two classics was incredibly well-received upon its September launch last year. This March, it kept its date for next-gen consoles and it’s now time for the game to hit the Nintendo Switch. June 25 has been reserved as the date for its arrival on the mini console, though, there’s no trailer out yet.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, as its name suggests, is a remaster of the first two games from the series that had started in 1999. It features twenty-one professional skateboarders, as well as three original characters. All of the professional skateboarders from the original games have returned for this version in their current ages. But there’s a special edition of the game that offers 1980s-skins for some skaters.

Apart from the original skaters, a number of new professionals have also been featured. These include the likes of Nyjah Huston, Riley Hawk, and Lizzie Armanto. Special characters include Officer Dick, who is played by Jack Black, and the skeleton Ripper, the mascot of Powell Peralta. Pro Skater 2’s original secret character, Spider-Man cannot be seen in this game owing to licensing issues.

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 combo has been developed by Vicarious Visions, a studio that has previously worked on ports for several Tony Hawk games. Apart from giving the graphics a complete overhaul, they have also made sure that the games run in 4K resolution at high frame rates. Upon its launch, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 became the fastest-selling game in the franchise, selling 1 million copies in the first two weeks.

Those sales numbers are all set to receive a further boost on June 25 when Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will hit the Nintendo Switch.
