An official announcement by Namco Bandai Games America has revealed that Armored Core V is all set to hit consoles this March. While it will be outed in North America on March 20, 2012, its European version is slated to arrive in stores on March 23. Developed by From Software, this offering is the fourteenth installment to the popular series, the last one being Armored Core: For Answer.
This new game will endow players with massive online multiplayer battles that have supposedly been designed around huge team-based fights. Moreover, a strong offline mode as well as a completely new atmosphere are also believed to be a part of the title. The ‘Armored Cores’ in this game have been customized to provide players with a more strategic gameplay. They would also be able to further modify these Cores by unlocking the various available parts.
“Gamers have been eagerly anticipating the release of Armored Core V, which will bring strategic mech combat to new heights. With cooperative missions, a persistent online world battling for territories and epic team battles, Armored Core V is the complete action shooter package,” commented, Eiichi Nakajima, studio head, FromSoftware.
Namco Bandai Games has also disclosed that this game focuses on tactics and encourages players to effectively utilize the geography of a level to maximize the devastating effects of their attacks. Another new addition to the title is the Operator Mode which lets players assume the role of a leader who must furnish his Armored Core teammates with enemy positions, movements and other details.
Armored Core V will be launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 20 and March 23 in North America and Europe respectively. It can be pre-ordered currently through a number of retailers, but those who reserve their copies from GameStop will be provided with access to the ‘Heavy Assault Pack’ which comprises additional weapons and parts for the game.
