Konami Announces Karaoke Revolution Glee

Hit musical comedy-drama television series Glee has been capturing millions of hearts since it first aired in September last year. And what better way to give people a deeper experience than a music video game? Konami is the first to jump at this opportunity announcing Karaoke Revolution Glee, a video game in the Karaoke Revolution franchise based on the TV series Glee.

Set to release for the Nintendo Wii this fall, Karaoke Revolution Glee will feature music and performances from the show. The game will give fans a chance to step into the shoes of the ultimate underdog, performing songs featured on the show.

“This partnership with Fox is very symbolic to us as we are thrilled to be the first to bring Glee to video game consoles,” said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “We plan to elevate the Karaoke Revolution franchise even further by giving fans a chance to pick up the mic and interact with their favorite characters, themes and music from one of the most popular television franchises to date.”

“This is the kind of game that Glee fans, or ‘Gleeks’ as they’re affectionately known, have been waiting for. We all know they’ve been singing along with their favorite characters during the show, now this game will let them rack up points in the process,” said Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President, New Media for Fox Consumer Products. “This partnership also reflects our on-going strategy to develop Glee as a long-term brand at retail.”

Gamers in Karaoke Revolution Glee can play alongside their favourite Glee characters including Rachel Berry, Finn Hudson, and even leader, Will Schuester. The game allows players to perform in some of the most memorable scenes from the series’ first season, and features 35 chart-topping hits and tunes from the show. There will even be multiplayer singing games in which players can sing duets or in harmonies.

Karaoke Revolution Glee will also feature unlockable content in a special gameplay mode allowing fans access to memorable moments from the show. The game will make use of Karaoke Revolution’s voice recognition technology and will release for the Wii this fall.
