EA’s The Sims 3 is extremely popular and has received an expansion in the form of The Sims 3 Adventures. According to new research by Electronic Arts, Brits in the UK have de-cluttered their homes to the effect of 10 billion pounds, in this year’s spring cleaning. And over 66 percent of the adult population is expected to throw away or recycle an overage of 338 pounds per person.
This is mainly due to the extended cold period at the start of 2010 keeping Brits holed up indoors. And what better way to plan for a de-clutter than to use EA’s The Sims 3 Design & High-tech Stuff pack for The Sims 3 video game. The pack allows players to create a modern setting for their Sims with new furnishings and the latest gadgets.
A survey was conducted by OnePoll to mark the launch of The Sims 3 Design & High-tech Stuff pack, which found that the number of UK homes receiving a spring clean this year has increased by more than 20 percent compared to last year. Also, 20 percent of those surveyed felt that 2010 was a landmark year for them to refurbish their homes. More than 70 percent of Brits admit to hoarding certain items deemed unnecessary, and over 30 percent of them are reportedly clearing out DVDs and CDs.
