Konami to deliver DanceDanceRevolution on Xbox 360 next year

PS3 owners inclined towards grooving to a digital beat now won’t be the only ones to do so, as Konami reveals that the latest DanceDanceRevolution game will revisit Xbox 360 consoles early next year. The new offering is also reported to blend the innovative pick-up-and-play mechanics with the immersive and interactive gameplay which has contributed to the franchise’s success.

The Xbox 360 iteration of DanceDanceRevolution offers two new gameplay modes, Dance Off and Club Mode, each presenting with non-stop dancing action. Dance Off will have up to four players tapping over the dance mat while taking turns like a dance battle, and the winner will be determined based on the accuracy of their dance moves coordination with the appearing arrows. Dance Off also ups the ante with special gimmicks that bring additional challenges for the players.

While the Dance Off carries a more casual vibe, the Club Mode is said to be ‘designed for the more hardcore DanceDanceRevolution fan’. It puts hip-shakers in an uninterrupted dance act of 4 to 20 songs with changing difficulty levels according to how well they execute their moves. Choosing a non-stop option will make players dance non-stop despite of the Dance Gauge. DanceDanceRevolution also accommodates a Challenge Level for the more skilled players with diagonal arrows incorporated to the standard up, down, right and left arrows.

Featuring Visual Jockey which awards dancing pros with new on-screen graphics for more engaging gameplay experience, DanceDanceRevolution for Xbox 360 also allows players to utilize their Xbox Live camera to project themselves in the game and watch their dance on-screen. The title comprises of a lengthy track list including 20 licensed songs from few of the hottest contemporary musicians as well as over 30 unique tracks by Konami’s original artists. New songs will also be downloadable to add to gamers’ playlists via Xbox Live.

Compatible with Xbox 360, DanceDanceRevolution is expected to hit store shelves in the first quarter of 2011.
