We have been hearing of Green Day tracks coming to music-based game Rock Band. The band is quite popular, so adding its tracks to the franchise would seem the right move. Considering the band’s popularity, what would make even more sense is an entire game based solely on them. And now all that seems to be a reality as MTV has revealed a Green Day Rock Band game.
According to MTV the announcement was made at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards by “game-maker” Harmonix. Apparently the game will feature the likenesses of guitarist and vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Drint, and drummer Tre Cool. Green Day Rock Band will also allow players to play the band’s songs, visit venues, and view artwork key to the band’s history.
In addition, the game will even have a “fully exportable track list” which will allow users to play the songs in Rock Band and Rock Band 2 on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Green Day Rock Band is expected to be made available around the world for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii sometime next year.
