Gorillaz Make their Rock Band Debut next week

Harmonix and MTV Games unveil a three pack of songs from the famous Eclectic rockers Gorillaz. Formed by Blur’s Damon Albarn, the band is set to make their Rock Band debut. Besides them, there are four single tracks from classic artists such as The Who, Janis Joplin, The Band and Jefferson Airplane. Apart from The Who, the other three names are also making their Rock Band debut.

All these tracks will be available as DLC in the Rock Band Music Store for PS3 and Xbox 360 next week. Additionally, the Wii Rock Band Music Store will feature the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Kiss, Weezer and Blink-182. Iron Maiden will also grace Rock Band Unplugged with their songs.

Gorillaz swoops into Rock Band with their tracks, ‘Clint Eastwood’, ‘Re-Hash’ and ‘Feel Good Inc.’ The legends that are also featured in the line-up are The Band with the live version of ‘Chest Fever’, Jefferson Airplane with ‘White Rabbit’ and Janis Joplin with their single ‘Piece of My Heart’. The Who’s track namely ‘Magic Bus’ is the Live at Leeds version.

All these tracks can be acquired starting August 11, 2009. The songs can be bought as part of the ‘Gorillaz Pack 01’ or even as individual tracks on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Each song is priced at $1.99, £.99, €1.49 (approx. Rs.95) or 160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360. The Gorillaz Pack 01 will cost gamers $5.49, £2.49, €3.99 (approx. Rs.263) or 440 Microsoft Points.

Come August 11 and Wii Rock Band Music Store will feature many popular artists. There will also be some back-catalog additions which originate from the catalog of Rock Band music. These songs are already available to PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. Including the latest offerings, the track count of the Wii Rock Band Music Store has increased to 575 songs. The newly added tracks are for the Wii include ‘Dammit’, ‘Feeling This’, ‘The Rock Show’ and ‘Down’ by Blink-182. Fratellis comes in with three songs namely ‘Henrietta’, ‘Creeping Up the Backstairs’ and ‘Flathead’.

Kiss brings their three live versions called ‘Parasite’, ‘100,000 Years’ and ‘Deuce’. The list also features Lenny Kravitz with the songs ‘Mr Cab Driver’, ‘Freedom Train’, ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ and ‘Let Love Rule’. Steve Miller Band slides in with ‘The Joker’, ‘Space Cowboy’ and ‘Take The Money & Run’. Thin Lizzy unveils their live version tracks namely ‘Jailbreak’, ‘The Boys Are Back in Town’ and ‘Cowboy Song’. Songs like ‘Undone-The Sweater Song’, ‘My Name is Jonas’ and ‘Pork & Beans’ by Weezer is also included in list. Wii Rock Band concludes its offering with ‘Out Here All Night’ by Damone and ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’ by Pat Benatar. Each of these tracks can be purchased at $2.00 (approx. Rs. 95) or 200 Wii points.

PSP owners aren’t left far behind either. Rock Band Unplugged will see the legend Iron Maiden belting out two of their famous songs namely ‘The Trooper’ and ‘The Number of the Beast’. These latest songs will be added to the already present 27 tracks which can be acquired through the Rock Band Unplugged in-game music store for the console. Each track is priced at $1.99, £.99, €1.49 (approx. Rs. 95).
