Microsoft Job Posting Confirms Xbox Live Windows Mobile Phones?

Microsoft is probably best known for its Windows OS for PCs. But the company also has platforms for cell phones called Windows Mobile, and on the gaming front the Xbox Live service for the Xbox 360 gaming console. Now Engadget is reporting that according to a Microsoft job listing on Microsoft Entertainment Jobs, the Xbox Live gaming platform will be extended beyond the console to encompass Windows Mobile phones as well. The Micorsoft job listing page has since been updated to say that the position has already been filled.

Xbox Live Windows Mobile

The ad says that the company aims at “connecting players via the Live services on new devices beyond the console”. The job listing seeks a Principal Program Manager to help bring Xbox Live enabled games to Windows Mobile. The job will particularly focus on “avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences”.

How the two modes of gaming will compliment each other is still blown wide open with this job ad. But now at least we have some sort of confirmation that it is coming.
