Painkiller Developer and Epic Games Working on New IP, Bulletstorm?

Video game developer ‘People Can Fly’ is best known for its work on 2004’s old-school first person shooter Painkiller. Now Kotaku is reporting that a newly filed trademark has revealed that People Can Fly and Epic Games might be working on a new intellectual property named ‘Bulletstorm’.

Bulletstorm PCF Epic

Apparently the Polish, Warsaw-based developer filed a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office last week. The patent was filed for “Computer software for use with personal computers, for use with home video game consoles for use with televisions, and for use with arcade-based video game consoles for use with televisions”, simply meaning it is patent for a video game. At this point it looks likely that the game could be a multi-platform title for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

According to gaming blog Kotaku, a Bulletstorm trademark has also been filed for “Printed materials; user manuals; hints books”, so we can probably expect the game to carry with it a manual of some sort. It should be noted though, that the trademark hasn’t been approved yet. So Bulletstorm may not even be the final name of PCF’s game.
