Is IG Fun planning BioShock for iPhone?

As the world waits for the 2D and 3D ports of BioShock to the cell phone platform, Sean Malatesta, CEO of mobile game developer IG Fun held a session at the Game Developers Conference to discuss a few challenges faced by the developer while working on the mobile version of BioShock. The challenges faced by IG Fun include having only one audio channel and having to work with a variety of different phones.

Mobile ports of successful console games don’t usually turn out well. This is mainly because the two platforms are very different and have their own opposing strengths and weaknesses. “These are some of the questions you have to ask yourself,” Malatesta mused. “Are we crazy to do this? Is it too much trouble? … Small, cute games are easy to do, but are they better?”

Malatesta was asked about an iPhone version of the BioShock port, to which he replied, “Honestly, I can’t comment on BioShock on iPhone right now. It’s top secret.” That was the extent of the statement, but it looks very possible that any day now, an iPhone version of the game is announced.
