Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt will have Geralt’s beard grow over time

As Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt prepares for a release on next-gen platforms and PC, we have been provided with an interesting tidbit to look forward to. It has been revealed by the game’s makers that the main character from this game, Gerald of Rivia will have his beard grow over time. This true next-gen level of detail is actually a clever method devised by the developers to compel people to download the title’s DLC.

Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

How is that you ask? Well, as you move forward in the game, and as time passes Geralt’s beard keeps growing. But if you wish to stop that from happening, you can download its free Beard and Hairstyle DLC which lets you dictate the looks of the character. Since it’s not paid content, it’s a win-win for both beard lovers and beard haters. This information was brought to our notice by Eurogamer which sourced it to a German magazine named Gamestar which had published an article about Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

This upcoming action-RPG was recently delayed into May, and will now be released on the 19th of the said month. It’s the third main entry to the series which has already given two extremely appreciated titles to fans. This game will only be launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and is touted to feature an open world environment that will be 20 bigger than the one featured in Bethesda’s epic The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Like we said, the Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt has its release date set for May 19. It can be pre-ordered now through major retail outlets from around the world.
