The makers of Dark Souls games are hard at work at a title codenamed Project Beast apparently. This has been suggested by leaks that also contain a 20-second clip showcasing some footage from the game. From Software hasn’t spoken officially about it as yet, and it seems E3 is the platform it is waiting to unveil the game on.
A number of short leaked videos about Project Beast have hit the Internet, and some NeoGAF user has already stitched them together to create a continuous video. The character which can be seen in these clips appears to possess tendril-like arms which could only mean good things as far as combat is concerned.
According to Eurogamer, Project Beast is apparently a PS4-exclusive. Said to be the product of a partnership between From Software and Sony Japan Studio, it is being handled by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the Souls series that includes Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2.
These games are extremely popular among their fans, and are known for their relentless difficulty. Equipped with action-RPG gameplay, they also feature hack and slash-like combat. Demon’s Souls was released back in 2009 exclusively for the PS3, whereas its spiritual successor, Dark Souls came out in 2011 for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 and in 2012 for PC. Dark Souls 2 was released earlier this year for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
All three of these games have received immense critical acclaim thanks to their unique attributes. From Software will hence be hoping to repeat that with Project Beast which we’re hoping to find out more about at E3.
