Diablo 3 headed to Xbox One?

Seems as though Blizzard’s action-RPG hack and slash dungeon crawler Diablo 3 isn’t content with being available for just one next-gen console, even as retail listings have started pointing out that the game might be launched for the Xbox One as well, apart from the PS4. The makers have issued a statement in which they have stayed mum on the matter, but they haven’t ruled out the possibility of an Xbox One version of the game either.

It all started when according to IGN, Best Buy Canada started listing Diablo 3 for the Xbox One on its website. Following the blow-up however, the retailer was quick to take down the listing. But a screenshot snapped by the above mentioned website had done the damage already. And it seems, even FutureShop was listing the game for the Xbox One through its site.

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed through its official statement that it’s one of their goals to bring Diablo 3 to ‘as many players as possible.’ And while it has said that it doesn’t have any platform announcements to share at this time, it has not denied the possibility of an Xbox One version.

First released for PC and Mac back in 2012, Diablo 3 was an instant hit among fans and critics alike. In September 2013, it made its way to the PS3 and the Xbox 360 as well. Apart from its impending PS4 and Xbox One versions, a new expansion titled Reaper of Souls is also in the works at the moment.
