The release date of the Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC has been placed on March 5, 2013, whereas that of the latest free multiplayer add-on, the Reckoning Pack has been set for February 26. The former was announced to be the final single-player add-on for the game, and is being hailed by BioWare as a ”˜sentimental journey’ with Commander Shepard and his/her squad. The free multiplayer pack on the other hand, has been revealed to contain new characters, weapons and upgrades for players to indulge in.

The Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3 is meant for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It revolves around a ”˜sinister conspiracy’ that has hit Commander Shepard, and now, he/she together with their team are faced with uncovering the truth behind it. It has even come to light that gamers will be able to encounter characters from the previous games in the series, including Urdnot Wrex. The game’s much loved romances will also be making a return through this new content, with gamers having the ability to explore unseen corners of the deep-space station.

It will be the fifth story-based add-on for the much loved game, if we also count in the Extended Cut content which was doled out to counter fan backlash that had resulted due to the title’s unclear ending. Besides these, a number of other packs have also been launched for ME3’s single-player as well as multiplayer components from time to time. Most of these were comprised inside the Wii U version of the game which came out in November last year.
Coming to the new Reckoning Pack, it will be seen introducing fresh characters to the multiplayer component, such as the Geth Juggernaut, Cabal Vanguard, Talon Mercenary, Alliance Infiltration Unit and the Krogan Warlord. Moreover, seven new weapons will be granted to players, along with fresh equipment and weapon mods. BioWare is set to hold a live stream featuring a gameplay demonstration of this content on February 25 through Twitch TV.

While it will be free to download upon its release the next day, the Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC will have its price set at 14.99 USD (approx. Rs. 815) or 1200 Microsoft Points, on the respective platforms.
