Free Mass Effect 3 Retaliation Pack brings a Multiplayer overhaul

Next week will see BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 being reinforced with a new free update named the Retaliation Pack which is being claimed by the developer to be the game’s largest upgrade to date. It will introduce to the title’s multiplayer, a whole new enemy faction, overhauled versions of existing maps as well as a new Challenge feature.

The Collector race from the previous game in the series will materialize in the Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper, and Captain ranks. Moreover, new unlockable kits of the Turian Havoc Soldier and Turian Ghost Infiltrator will also be made available through the update. The six existing maps from the game’s multiplayer will now be accompanied by their own Hazard versions. These will be fraught with environmental hazards and traps such as lightnings, meltdowns, sandstorms, swarms and more.

With the Collector race come new weapons and equipment upgrades that can be unlocked by gamers. Another fresh addition comes in the form of the new Challenges database. With this feature, players will be able to complete certain multiplayer assignments in order to unlock titles and banners which will be displayed in-game. They can then compare their progress against that of their friends.

A massive patch is also incoming for the game this week. Slated to release for all three platforms, the update will bring in a number of much awaited fixes and will even cap some exploits. This game was released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in March this year, and managed to grab an Overall score of 10/10 in our review of it. A Wii U version is also ready to release next month.
