Final Fantasy XIII Limited Collector’s Edition announced

It was recently revealed that the english version of Final Fantasy XIII was finally complete and would be available in Europe and PAL territories shortly. Now Square Enix Ltd. discloses that a Limited Collector’s Edition of the game Final Fantasy XIII would also be unveiled when the game officially launches into the market.

The Final Fantasy XIII Limited Collector’s Edition includes a copy of the game as well as a Final Fantasy XIII Original Sound Selection which is noted to be an exclusive soundtrack CD. Fans of the acclaimed franchise can espy in-game music tracks hand-picked by composer Masashi Hamauzu especially for the limited edition. The CD is placed in a slipcase packed with Final Fantasy XIII artwork and liner notes penned by the composer himself.

Larry Sparks, Vice President Brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd. said, “Final Fantasy XIII is one of the most anticipated entertainment releases of all time and we’re pleased to announce this Limited Collector’s Edition for fans across PAL territories, the contents of which have been individually selected by the Final Fantasy XIII development team.”

Also included into the offering is a hardback book titled The World of Final Fantasy XIII. This comprises of CG rendered artwork, character artwork and environments plucked from across the game’s production. There are also three collectable prints bearing the artwork of the Eidolons as well as a collectible decal called ‘Brand of the l’Cie’. All these unique offerings are packed in a special branded presentation box.

Final Fantasy XIII Limited Collector’s Edition is fashioned for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and is scheduled to hit stores on March 9, 2010. The exact pricing of the offering is still under wraps.
