As the Penny Arcade Expo kicked off in Seattle, gaming giants have begun unleashing their coveted offerings lined up for the convention. Hothead Games has announced that players can experience the first live demo for their titles dubbed Swarm and DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue.
The attendees at PAX can immerse in DeathSpank’s comical world while commanding a group of daft and fearless Swarmites through a dangerous adventure. The company has also announced that participants of the demo stand a chance to win numerous prizes including limited edition hothead merchandise.
“We’re really excited to be at PAX to show off Swarm and DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue. PAX has always been a show for gamers and we appreciate the opportunity to connect directly with fans,” beamed Ian Wilkinson, President of Hothead.
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue continues the unlikely journey of the superhero, unrolling the path for the discovery and destruction of six mystical thongs. The second game which will be unveiled at the expo is an action platformer titled Swarm. Featuring creative mass character control and fast-paced action, the comic caper will infuse an innovative experience for gamers.
The second installment in the DeathSpank series has been scheduled to release on September 21, 2010 on PlayStation Network while the Xbox Live Arcade will enable gamers to download the title from September 22, 2010. The official release date and pricing details for Swarm are still under wraps. The Penny Arcade Expo which was flagged off yesterday will reach its finale on September 5, 2010.
