Final Fantasy I, II for PSP Confirmed by Square Enix

Video games publisher Square Enix has confirmed that they will be releasing Final Fantasy I and II for PSP in North America. The games are being launched as a part of Square Enix’s celebration of Final Fantasy’s twentieth anniversary.

Both the games will have widescreen presentation, updated graphics, higher resolution sprites, pre-rendered CG cut scenes, and a new tilted camera perspective on the overworld. In addition, they will feature the content that was added for the 2004 release of the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls collection on Game Boy Advance.

Shinji Hashimoto, Executive Producer says, “So much has changed within the video game industry since the first console was launched, and Final Fantasy has always pushed the envelope, creating the most superior graphics and immersive storylines possible. It is amazing to see how far Final Fantasy has come in the past twenty years, and we cannot wait to continue bringing fans more Final Fantasy titles in the next twenty years.”

Final Fantasy for PSP will release in North America on June 26, 2007 while Final Fantasy II will come out on July 24, 2007. So far, around twenty-eight games from the Final Fantasy series have been released.
