Video games publisher Koei has unveiled a new role-playing game for the Nintendo Wii. The game, which is known as Opoona will be an original science fiction title for the Wii. Koei is calling the game as a “lifestyle RPG”, where gamers adapt to a new environment, meet new people, get a job, all while becoming aware of the valuable world and people surrounding them.
About Opoona:
- “Opoona” is the story of a boy who is a progeny of brave warriors, known as Cosmo Guards. These Cosmo Guards endeavor to preserve universal peace. During a trip to the planet Landroll, Opoona becomes separated from his family. His brother and sister are missing, while his parents are hospitalized with serious injuries. In order to search for his siblings, Opoona must get a job and a “license” to travel between colonies. Thus, Opoona’s adventure begins as he struggles to begin a life for himself on this new planet.
The game is being developed by Japanese studio ArtePiazza while the music is being composed by Final Fantasy XII (PS2) composer Hitoshi Sakamoto. Koei aims to release the game in Japan this summer. They have not given a date for the North American launch.
