Square Enix reveals Bust-A-Move Universe for Nintendo 3DS

The North American publisher Square Enix rolled out a new third person shooter, Mindjack for Xbox 360 and PS3 via Xbox Live and PSN just earlier this month. The company is now re-spawning a popular puzzle title, Bust-A-Move Universe, in full 3D for Nintendo’s much-anticipated 3DS portable gaming device.

Bringing the classic puzzle series with improved features and vivacious 3D effects, Bust-A-Move is reported to be the next installment in the sequence that debuted back in 1994 as a Taito arcade game. Standard gameplay mechanics of the game are said to be identical with its predecessors, that is, connecting three or more multicolored bubbles to make them vanish. However, the game brings numerous enhanced features such as endless bubble-popping fun and full 3D effects.

Players can clear rounds within Puzzle Mode in fiery boss battles or take on 100-second, 300-second or Nonstop Bubbles in Challenge Mode. The iconic characters Bub and Bob return as the heroes of Bust-A-Move and Bubble Bobble in an immersive gameplay across a lively three dimensional universe. Gamers’ objective remains simple with shooting, connecting and bursting bubbles of the same color as their only goal.

Bust-A-Move is scheduled to hit store shelves in Spring 2011 tagged with an indicative price of 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,367).
