The UnderGarden Coming to PSN this Winter

Puzzles often prove intriguing for people from different spheres including both hardcore and casual gaming zones. Back in September last year, Atari announced a new game dubbed The UnderGarden to quench the thirst of such players. After arriving onto the XBLA and PC, the game will be released onto the PSN this winter, reveals a post on the PlayStation blog. This game has been developed in the studios of Vitamin-G while Atari dons the role of its publisher.

As we’d reported earlier, this title has been developed as a space to discover the identity of the lead character through a series of puzzles. These explorations entail a floating journey through windy tunnels, dark caverns and foggy environments. To progress further in the game, players will need to gather pollens for growing beautiful flowers and exotic plants. Further, the fruits borne by some of these trees can come handy for manipulating doors, levers and more for advancing further in gameplay.

Supporting drop-in/drop-out co-op play, this game has been developed to create an interactive environment throughout the title. The integration of musical melodies into vivid in-game elements make it possible for players to immerse in a vibrant atmosphere. Gamers can play at their own pace in this title without worrying about adversaries or hostile fundamentals. While replying back to queries on the post, developer Vitamin-G’s Head of Engineering Antonio Santamaria has stated that though it is not a platformer, the game has been embedded with some of soft puzzle elements.

It has also been divulged that the game will support local co-op play only, allowing players to embark on an adventure with their neighborhood friend. With over 17 levels and a bunch of bonus outfits, they can unravel several unlockables while navigating through tricky areas at later levels. It’s easy pick up and play system boosts gameplay, enabling non-gamers to indulge into a gratifying experience. Additionally, a reply revealed that the PS3 version of the title was developed alongside its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts and includes some extra levels. Besides, the folks over at Vitamin-G have been pondering over introducing Move compatibility and could involve the motion controller ‘if there’s enough interest’.

One of the replies by Antonio Santamaria elucidates that The UnderGarden is likely to hit the PSN next month. It has also been disclosed that an announcement will soon shed some light on the release date of the title. Lastly, Santamaria affirmed that a demo of the game is very well be on its way.
