Sony has showcased a new Gray Camouflage PS5 Collection that will be hitting store shelves this October. The set includes a DualSense controller, a Pulse 3D wireless headset, and console covers for the PlayStation 5.
Sony says that the PlayStation team has reimagined its camouflage pattern to reflect a fresher, more contemporary feel. Looking at the design closely will make the tiny iconic PlayStation Shapes visible in the pattern.
This lineup follows a similar galaxy-inspired DualSense wireless controller that was launched in March this year. Starlight Blue, Nova Pink and Galactic Purple, were the color options that were made available, though there was nothing for the headset or the actual console back then.
The Gray Camouflage PS5 Collection will be perfect for someone who will be purchasing the console for the first time, along with its headset. The camouflage controller can become their second controller, aside from the white one that will already be present in the box.
Pre-orders for the Gray Camouflage PS5 Collection are set to commence on September 15. However, only the DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console covers will launch globally on October 14, with the headset arriving sometime in December.
Last month, Sony announced a price hike for the PlayStation 5 in several regions around the world, except the US. The firm cited the “global economic environment” as the main reason behind these price increases.
Jim Ryan President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment opined that “high global inflation rates, as well as adverse currency trends, [are] impacting consumers and creating pressure on many industries.” He hence termed this decision as a “necessity” given the impact SIE’s business has had during the current global economic situation.
Coming back to the Gray Camouflage PS5 Collection, as we said, it will be made available from October 14 onwards.
