Crysis holds the reputation of being a graphically demanding game that pushed your hardware to the maximum while rendering its beautiful visuals. Over the years, things haven’t changed much, and the original game still puts well-equipped PCs to the test. This new version, Crytek promises, will bring fresh graphic features and high-quality textures. Moreover, ray tracing support will also form part of its offerings, confirmed the company.
Crysis was first released back in 2007 with a story set in the future where a huge structure built by aliens gets discovered underneath a mountain. It puts you in the shoes of U.S. Army Delta Force soldier Jake Dunn who is equipped with futuristic weapons and a special ‘Nanosuit’ that possesses unique abilities. Upon its launch, the game was met with widespread critical acclaim for its high-octane shooting gameplay and its breathtaking visuals. It also stands among the best selling PC games of all time.
Crytek CEO Avni Yerli, expressed, “We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game. It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to bring Crysis back to PCs and current consoles – even Nintendo Switch! – so that a whole new generation of players can experience the thrill of a battle in the Nanosuit.”
A release date for Crysis Remastered has not been announced yet, but Crytek has indeed said that it will be out this summer.
