Ghost of Tsushima

PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima has finally been released for the PS4 across the world. The samurai saga developed by Sucker Punch Productions has received favorable reviews from critics till now. The game can be purchased in exchange of Rs 3,999 in India and around $59.99 in other parts of the world. Sony Interactive Entertainment would be hoping for it to break the record of The Last of Us 2, which recently became the fastest-selling first-party PS4 exclusive by selling 4 million copies in its first weekend.

Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world, action-adventure game that has its story revolve around Jin Sakai, one of the last samurai on Tsushima Island. The story is set during 1274, which was around when the first Mongol invasion of Japan had taken place. Game director Nate Fox, had said about it, “This is a game that is entirely grounded in reality.”

He added, “We’re trying hard to transport people to 1274 Japan. We’re inspired by history, but we’re not building it back stone by stone. We’re not trying to rebuild Tsushima island. Our protagonist is a work of fiction. We actually thought about using some historical figures, and we asked some people who are more culturally aware than us and they said that it would be insensitive, so we didn’t do it.”

Ghost of Tsushima was first announced back in 2017 during the PlayStation Media Showcase at Paris Games Week. It was earlier supposed to be launched on June 26 this year, but it faced a delay in its release owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Online as well as offline stores are now stocking Ghost of Tsushima, which can be played on both the PS4 or the PS4 Pro. The game will also be playable on the PS5 thanks to the console’s backwards compatibility.
