Persona 4 Golden could land on PC this week

Persona 4 Golden

Persona 4 Golden, the updated version of the much-revered original PS2 game, looks all set to land on PC this week. Multiple findings are pointing out that the game will be arriving on Steam this Saturday. While the original Persona 4 – technically the fifth entry to the series – was released in 2008, the Golden version was a PS Vita port that was launched in 2012. This JRPG blended its role-playing mechanics with school-life simulation and is considered among the best games ever made.

Frequent leaker Wario64 has tweeted out a SteamDB listing for Persona 4 Golden that also bears the game’s art. Daniel Ahmad a well-reputed industry analyst also chipped in with a tweet of his own, saying, “Announce and release on same day [sic].” News about its arrival on June 13 came from a Gematsu report that cited multiple sources with knowledge on the matter.

Persona 4 takes place in a fictional Japanese rural town and places you in the shoes of a high-school student who has just moved into the countryside from the city for a year. It features randomly generated dungeons and even daily activities. Upon its launch in Japan, the game had sold close to 200,000 copies within a week, while it was the highest-selling PS2 game on Amazon.com for two consecutive weeks in North America. THe game has also led to two fighting game spin-offs, namely Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and a rhythm game titled Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Person 4 Golden adds plenty of new stuff to the old game. This includes a new character, fresh story elements, an additional dungeon, and many visual changes.

As we said, June 13 is the expected release date for Persona 4 Golden on PC. What it will cost remains to be seen.
