October 28 has been announced as the Steam release date for survival horror game, Slender: The Arrival. This title had already been released for PC and Mac in March this year, but it wasn’t made available through Valve’s digital distribution platform. Following a successful Steam Greenlight campaign, the game is finally ready to make its presence felt on Steam. It will be made available at a price of 9.99 USD (approx. Rs 615).
Apart from PC and Mac, Slender: The Arrival is also set to make its way onto consoles sometime during the first quarter of 2014. But details regarding these versions are slim at the moment. The game tries to explore the mystery surrounding the fictional character of Slender Man which originated as an Internet meme created by members of the Something Awful forum. It has been infused with a dark and foreboding atmosphere which is given a whole new meaning by its compatibility with the Oculus Rift head gear.
This title is a sequel to Slender: The Eight Pages, a June 2012 offering which gained much praise for its scary gameplay. Slender: The Arrival thrusts you into the shoes of a realtor named Laura, who’s assisting here friend Kate in the task of trying to sell her house off. The mystery begins when Kate suddenly goes missing. It is now left up to Laura to search her, and the only two things aiding her in this job are a camcorder and a flashlight.
Like we said, Slender: The Arrival will be out on Steam on October 28, just in time for Halloween.
