Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition – the PC version of From Software’s critically acclaimed RPG – was released recently in North American as well as European territories. But much to gamers’ surprise, the resolution of the title appeared to be locked at 1024×768, and this prompted modder Durante to come up with a fix for the same, within 23 minutes of the game’s release.

This feat was made possible by the fact that some websites around the world which had received review copies had made the dilemma known to gamers beforehand. NeoGAF user Durante took note of this and started working on a fix for the issue. Upon the game’s launch this week, it took him just 23 minutes to settle upon the final code and release the mode for the world. Considerable differences can be spotted within the resolutions of the game with the implementation of the mod.
Dark Souls was first released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in October last year, and was quick to grab substantial acclaim for its hardcore dark-fantasy role-playing attributes. This PC version comes equipped with a number of additional features that include an enhanced PVP mode, as well as a new location within its open world. Here, gamers will be able to experience fresh maps, environments, boss characters, enemies, NPCs and an arsenal of new weapons and armor.
The Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition can be purchased for PC now at a price of 39.95 USD (approx. Rs. 2,220). And the unofficial resolution mod can be downloaded from the NeoGAF link that we’ve posted above.
