Sony NGP gets Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048, Little Deviants and More Games

It’s taken a little over four months for Sony to reveal the official lineup of games for the NGP. Well, finally the official PlayStation blog shared last week that Unchartered: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2084 and Little Deviants are among the titles to be officially unveiled for the NGP. Along with game details, the post also reveals the use of new controls.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Developed by Bend Studio, the first in the lineup, Unchartered: Golden Abyss is set to be Nathan Drake’s first portable adventure. Important elements of the Unchartered titles remain, including exciting action, adventure and engaging storytelling. The control scheme too looks familiar though gamers can gear up to welcome many new options like touch and tilt controls.

WipEout 2084 brings a new preface to one of the most loved PlayStation series. Placed in a time when anti-grav racing is born, the game boasts of wider near-future environments. Interestingly, gamers get to race against PS3 players on WipEout HD Fury through cross-play with PS3.

A series of crazy adventures, Little Deviants will empower users to show off various functions and features of their NGP. This counts rear touchpad, touchscreen, the cameras, motion sensor, augmented reality and microphone. Sound Shapes which is only a working title for now includes the ability to not just play and compose but also share music on the portable system. The touchscreen is put to good use with this distinct take on the side-scrolling platformer.

The earlier announced Reality Fighters title also finds space in the list. With this augmented reality fighting game, players can make the most of the NGP camera as they not only capture themselves but also other fighters across the world. Next is Super Stardust Delta, PSN’s popular shooter that takes advantage of the dual analog sticks to bring things under control. Accessibility to touchscreen and motion sensing controls is another benefit.

Offering enhanced graphics and a chic art style alongside precision controls through the touchscreen and rear pad is Hustle Kings. Everybody’s Golf and Resistance Retribution are other games that have also been accommodated. A short birdie via conventional touch and tilt controls and online multiplayer is what’s on offer with the former. As for Resistance Retribution, it’s an example of the PSP games that are now playable from the PlayStation Store on the NGP. The added perk of revisiting James Grayson’s journey across Europe with the handheld console’s dual analog sticks sure sounds exciting.

This just seems to be the tip of the iceberg. There’ll many more revelations for the NGP at the E3 this year.
