As operating systems graduate towards perfection with each passing day, a step backwards to reduced functionality seems highly unlikely a question for developers, but not for LittleBigPlanet 2 Beta players. According to one of the recent posts on PlayStation Lifestyle, a few creative individuals involved with the game’s beta have put together a Windows XP LBP2 edition.
This modification is much more impressive as a beta game’s byproduct, than a limitedly functional operating system. Windows XP LBP2 Edition features a completely altered start menu, a working mouse cursor, multiplayer support, built-in games as well as appropriate login and logout sound effects. The edition’s authors Boss_Mob, SaggySackBoy, tomatenbrei and daFRED94 describe it as working ‘almost perfectly’ and an ‘extremely accurate re-creation, right down to the log in noise’.
Eager players can head over to YouTube and witness a Sackboy infested Windows XP operating system, only for the good, apparently.
