Some time ago, we reported that Orange Box was available for sixty-six percent off on Steam, although just for a weekend. Later we heard that the PC version of Team Fortress 2, the first person shooter multiplayer game, would be getting a class pack mainly focusing on the Sniper in the game.
The Spy/Sniper Update lands this Thursday via Steam, and to celebrate it Valve announces a Team Fortress 2 ‘Free Weekend’ on Steam. Valve has basically made the Team Fortress 2 game files available for pre-loading. With this, players will have no obligation to purchase the game and will be able to play the full game over the extended Free Weekend.
Anyone who has a Steam account can avail of this free weekend, even if you don’t have the game. And Joystiq reports that the extended Free Weekend starts on Thursday May 21, 2009 and runs all the way through Monday May 25, 2009.
