One more tournament to satisfy the appetite for Indian gamers. Chaos 2007 will be the gaming carnival of Cognizance, the annual technical festival at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee. The tournament will feature more than 100 computers and the organizers are expecting over 2000 gamers from all over India.
The games at Chaos 2007 are:
Counter-Strike 1.6: 5X5 format (Team First Person Shooter)
Age of Conquerors: 3X3 format (Team Real Time Strategy)
Unreal Tournament 2004 (First Person Shooter)
Need for Speed (Racing)
FIFA 06 (Sports)
Apart from the gaming tournament, there is a guest lecture from Mr. Paul Steed, Chief Design Officer of Exigent 3D scheduled on 24th March on the topic – “The Gaming Industry : Your New Job”. Mr. Steed has worked for Origin Systems, Electronic Arts, Id Software, Wild Tangent, Microsoft’s Xbox and now on Atari.
The prizes for the event include cash plus gaming hardware from the sponsors. The net worth of the prizes will be more than Rs. 2 lacs.
