The HP Blackbird 002 has an aluminum chassis and a cast-aluminum foot. It also includes patented, full system liquid-cooling. The gaming PC has a removable side panel, completely open BIOS as well as interior and back panel LED lighting. Gamers can build, share and order their custom-designed system at the official website. Though the Blackbird will support both AMD and Intel CPU options, as of now only the Intel option will be available as Voodoo is waiting for Phenom, AMD’s next generation chip. But customers will have a choice of Nvidia or ATI video cards.

Todd Bradley, Executive VP, Personal Systems Group, HP states, “Gaming PCs have always been accessible to only a few. By combining our acquisition a year ago of gaming leader Voodoo with innovations from HP Labs, we bringing the gaming experience to the mainstream. Now more and more people can have a no-compromise computer from HP and, as with our broad lineup of new products, the design is beautiful inside and out.”

Consumers will be able to configure their own HP Blackbird 002 from October 1, 2007. All the machines will be hand-built in HP’s production facility in Calgary, Alberta. As for the prices, well, they will depend on the configuration. The range goes from $2,500 to $7,100.
