Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that they will bring their forthcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) to Asia. It will be released in the major Asian regions like Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan.
Mark Jacobs, GM of EA Mythic and Lead designer of WAR said, “Over the last twenty-four years, Games Workshop has crafted and refined the Warhammer fantasy universe into one of the wealthiest intellectual properties in the world. Combine this with EA Mythic’s proficiency in creating massively multiplayer online games and the result is a title that we look forward to presenting to the exciting and vibrant Asian market.”
Hubert Larenaudie, President of EA Asia Online comments, “Warhammer Online is coming to Asia. WAR is one of the most anticipated MMORPGs today and we are excited to bring the game to Asian audiences. With its exceptional RvR system and rich end game content, Warhammer Online is sure to set a new standard for MMORPGs in Asia.”
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Realm vs. Realm system has gamers joining one of six Armies, the determined Dwarfs, the noble High Elves, the loyal humans of the Empire, the savage Greenskin, the crooked Dark Elves and the pillaging human worshippers of Chaos. Asian gamers will have their hands full with the variety of features available for the game.
The release dates of the game will be announced sometime later by EA. However, EA has not mentioned whether the game will release in India. Let’s hope they do launch it over here as there is a huge number of gamers who love to play role playing games.
