Video game developer Rockstar, designer of the popular and ultra-violent “Grand Theft Auto” series, has entered a new video game arena – table tennis. “Table Tennis,” for the Xbox 360, puts players against each other, the computer, or online opponents in the straightforward style of the recreation hall activity, the BBC reported.
The game, Rockstar’s first foray into next-generation console gaming, retails for approximately $39.99, well below the system’s usual price range. “Table Tennis,” is already on U.S. store shelves and will soon hit the shelves of other countries.
Rockstar — best known for violent and often controversial games — surprised many in the industry with the announcement of the relatively tame sports game. The developer will release a new installment of its flagship “Grand Theft Auto” series later this month.
