Throwback Entertainment, Inc. has announced that it has obtained the rights and interest in several Acclaim Entertainment titles. The enormous library of game-related properties includes Extreme-G Racing, Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, Legends of Wrestling, Re-Volt, Summer Heat Volleyball, Vexx and several others.
Thomas Maduri, CEO of Throwback Entertainment, Inc., states, “Acquiring the Acclaim titles provides a significant addition to our company, and will allow us to target different markets and opportunities.”
It is likely that Throwback holds the publishing rights only for most of the games. Throwback would not be able to develop further franchise as is the plan with the aforesaid highlighted games. Re-Volt is one exception as it is an Acclaim-developed game.
Most of the games belong to PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast platforms.
