5 Games Like Minecraft Dungeons

minecraft dungeons pc Minecraft is, without a doubt, one of the most successful video games of all time. With more than 200 million units sold it is also among the best-selling ones, second only to Tetris. To revitalize the franchise, Microsoft-owned Mojang Studios and Double Eleven have decided to give the blocky world a new spin. If you take a closer look at Minecraft Dungeons, you’ll see that it’s novel and familiar at the same time – it doesn’t have the vast open world of the original but its procedurally generated dungeons make it a fun game with endless replay potential.

Minecraft Dungeons is a third-person dungeon-crawling fantasy RPG game with many great predecessors to rely on for inspiration. If you like it, here are some other games you might enjoy – perhaps some with a longer and deeper single-player story.

The Elder Scrolls is a game series with three award-winning entries so far – Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim – and a new entry in the series is coming in the near future.

The Elder Scrolls is well-known for its vast, elaborate open world that players can explore, and more than enough dungeons filled with puzzles and dangerous creatures to defeat.

It may lack the playful and lighthearted nature of Minecraft Dungeons but if you enjoy the genre, it will give you countless hours of exploration, magic, and fighting.

The Warhammer universe is an interesting fusion of science-fiction and high fantasy, with vast ships crossing the depths of interstellar space, filled with brave, almost superhuman soldiers armed to their strengthened teeth fighting off the orcs, the Eldar, and the countless creatures sent by the Chaos to end humanity once and for all.

Chaosbane is a recent entry in the series – a dungeon crawler where players can take on the role of a Space Marine, a mage, a Slayer, a scout, or an Engineer and reach the heart of the Old World while fighting off the forces of the Chaos. It’s a violent, bloody game that will take you through ruins and blood to an intriguing endgame.

Hytale is built by the folks at Hypixel Studios created by the developers of the Hypixel multiplayer Minecraft server, later overtaken by Riot Games. The game, once released, will be a lot like a Hypixel server, with procedurally generated biomes, dungeons, and creatures, not to mention minigames.

The game was announced in 2018, and it is expected to be released in 2021.
