Ubisoft Launching The Settlers Online Closed Beta for America as Castle Empire

No matter which way anyone looks at it, there always appears to be room for more empire-building sims. According to a recent announcement by Ubisoft, the closed beta of The Settlers Online is sailing to France and it will also reach America as Castle Empire Online.

This move follows the German beta launch of the free, browser-based, multiplayer strategy game. Enthusiasts across France as well as America are being invited to register for early access to it. Also, those who sign up for closed beta are eligible to receive an exclusive in-game item, says Ubisoft.

“The game has had an excellent initial beta phase, adding to Ubisoft’s growing list of top-notch free-to-play, browser-based games, and we’re excited to begin rolling it out to new territories,” cited Stéphanie Perotti Worldwide Online Director at Ubisoft. “The Settlers Online is a highly entertaining game that highlights Ubisoft’s strategy to bring enjoyable experiences to players while expanding its gaming expertise to new audiences and territories.”

Created by BlueByte studio, The Settlers will have players attempting to transform their plots of land into powerful empires. The task involves producing and trading valuable goods with others and building towns and villages. Gamers will explore the wild in order to discover new areas and even fight anyone who stands in the way to reaching this goal.

The Settlers is the name with which gamers across France are being served this multiplayer strategy offering. Since Ubisoft seems to have reason for changing the title before taking it to America, users in the said region will know the game as Castle Empire like we mentioned earlier.
