LittleBigPlannet Community Update, Marvel LBP stuff coming

LBP 2 is not the only thing for LBP fans to get excited about. It’s good news for LittleBigPlanet fans as a post on the PlayStation Blog by Mark Valledor, Marketing Manager at SCEA, announces a LittleBigPlanet community update. The post reminds fans that there are several LBP items available in the PlayStation Store and there are more to come next week.

LBP Marvel

Coming next Tuesday, July 6, 2010 is some Marvel-ous stuff. That’s right, Marvel-ous! There will be four different Marvel Costume Packs hitting the store every week starting from July 6, 2010 which will include a whole series of official Marvel comic Super Hero and Super Villain costumes for players’ Sackboys and Sackgirls. Each pack will contain five different costumes. The full list of Marvel costumes includes Captain America, Daredevil, Doctor Octopus, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Green Goblin, Hulk, Invisible Woman, Iron Man, The Human Torch, Magneto, Mystique, The Punisher, Rogue, Spider-Man, Storm, The Thing, Thor, Venom, and Wolverine.

There will also be a Marvel Level Kit with four levels which take players on adventures against the evil plans of Magneto. Playing through the levels fans can collect an assortment of Marvel-themed music, objects, materials, stickers, and a special “Rooftop” background which will help in creating dastardly levels. The price of the Marvel Level Kit has not been revealed.

The PlayStation Blog post says that there are many other LBP-esque items that have hit the PlayStation Store. These include LBP “Soccer Fan” Avatars for the PSN each costing 0.49 USD, a Solstice costume for the PS3 available for free, the Unidentified Sacking Objects Costume available for free and the Unidentified Sacking Costume Level Pack available for 2.99 USD for the PSP, as well as Heavy Rain costumes for the PS3. The entire collection of Heavy Rain costumes is available for 5.99 USD while each is available for 1.99 USD.

The post also dabbles on a few other things. The LittleBigChallenge tasks fans with remixing any LBP 2 interview or interviews from the E3 coverage to win a few Rare Prize Crowns. The Kids Competition has been extended, while there will be more LBP shirts at Hot Topic.
