A report by NintenGen has cited the latest issue of the Nintendo Gamer magazine to reveal the various Wii U features which will be exploited by the upcoming Ubisoft title. The screen on the tablet controller will be usable as a navigation tool, allowing players to view a persistent on-screen map. The Animus Database entries that keep popping up every now and then could be displayed on the controller’s screen instead of the regular screen.

As we know from the previous AC games, the Animus acts as an encyclopedia, providing gamers with information regarding the characters and key aspects of the story. All this information will be readable on the Wii U tablet controller. Touchscreen controls will even be made available during combat. Actions such as quick changes from dual-wield combat to single weapons will be possible through the touchscreen. Moreover, with the use of its accelerometer, gamers will be able to use the controller as an alternate view for Eagle Vision.
