Bit.Trip Beat demo, Urbanix and more this week on WiiWare

It’s time again for the weekly casual treat as Nintendo brings two thrilling new titles and a demo of a retro-filled rhythm game via its WiiWare service. A splendid time-trekking adventure is made accessible for Wii owners in Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time, while Nordcurrent’s Urbanix delights gamers by putting them in control of a miniscule field-paving tractor. A demo version of Bit.Trip Beat is also available now on WiiWare for players to experience classic gameplay elements and retro visuals, all backed up by an 8-bit soundtrack.

Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time, the first offering this week is said to be Doc Clock’s first time-traveling adventure. As a brilliant and eccentric inventor, Doc Clock’s goal in life is to invent the perfect toasted sandwich machine. However, when one of his creations turns out wrong and transforms his pet cat into a pot plant, he contrives a time-machine to go back in time and undo the unintended. The game will enable players to utilize the amazing Time Slider and save Doc Clock’s darling cat from crazy robots as they conjure up almost anything ranging from incredible flying machines to catapults.

The second title releasing via WiiWare this week is a game inspired by classic computer games named Urbanix. The game allows players to govern a tiny tractor named Urbanix who is tasked with laying concrete on roads to make way for a town on an empty field. Chasing away house crashers and other enemies as they try to destroy the work, players will experience unique gameplay mechanics spread over Earth, across North Pole or on the moon. With plenty of power-ups and bonuses to collect, Urbanix includes 150 exciting levels and an intense multiplayer mode for gamers to enjoy.

Additionally, Nintendo is presenting a demo version of Bit.Trip Beat published by Aksys Games. The game is redolent of the classic video game Pong and enables players to direct an onscreen paddle to rebound waves of inward blocks at the beat of the background music. The patterns of blocks will become more and more complex and players advance in the game. Progressions are reflected by in-game graphics and music, allowing gamers to judge their steps forward. Moreover, increase in difficulty will let players a glimpse of the beginnings of the Bit.Trip Saga.

Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time is published by Stickmen Studios and delivers a cat-saving escapade of an industrious inventor for 1,000 Wii Points. Whereas players desiring a more urban adventure can grab a downloadable copy of Urbanix for 500 Wii Points via Nintendo’s WiiWare service. The Bit.Trip Beat demo is available for free with the full version downloadable for 600 Wii Points.
