Nintendo had earlier been in the news for setting a record of sorts with its newly released Pokémon Black and White versions. Both games together sold more than 1 million copies in one day. The numbers clocked in for the pair earned them the title of being the fastest-selling Pokémon video games of all time.

Now according to the NPD Group, the Nintendo Wii gaming console has exceeded the 35 million sales mark in the United States. In the month of February, over 454,000 Wii systems were sold across the country. These numbers make the console sit at the acme position as it sailed past the 35 million mark quicker than any other gaming system in the US before.
Last month saw the company clocking in various bests with its games. Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2 sold over 554,000 copies while four Nintendo titles made their way to new sales milestones. Donkey Kong Country Returns released in November last year and surpassed the 2 million mark just last month. The November 2009 launched New Super Mario Bros. Wii also attains a new benchmark as it crosses the 8 million sales mark.
The Pokémon SoulSilver Version game for Nintendo DS family unveiled in March last year and exceeded the 2 million sales mark in February. Finally, New Super Mario Bros. game that invaded the game arena back in May 2006 is noted to have just sailed past the 9 million mark.
