Hudson Entertainment’s magical puzzle-platformer Lost in Shadow was released earlier across Japan under the title ‘Kage no Tou’, and soon after took European players captive as ‘A Shadow’s Tale’ in October last year. Developed by Hudson Soft, Lost in Shadow has now acquired retail store spaces throughout the North American territory exclusively for Nintendo Wii console system.
Lost in Shadow is mostly played in the background of the game environment in an alternative world poised in front of a mysterious tower. This high-rising building is swarmed with moving shadows that simultaneously cast large shadows on everything underneath the tower. Players control a boy’s shadow and must climb the shadows of different contrivances, rife with puzzles and fight several opponents. A winged sylph called ‘Spangle’ will aid gamers in their quest as they move lights in the foreground to create new shadowy walkways to access areas unavailable earlier.

While being impervious to gravity across a medieval landscape, the shadow boy will fight off enemies and solve numerous mind-bending mysteries as he progresses in the game. Lost in Shadow is a blend of light, shadow, background and foreground which combine together to offer unique gameplay features, artistic visuals and morphing landscapes. Players will find a few recurring instances in the game when they will be allowed to materialize into the 3D world and momentarily interact with the object themselves instead of their shadows.
