Pac-Man Party for Wii Goes Gold, Release Dates Revealed

It’s been thirty years since Namco developed the 80’s widely popular arcade game character Pac-Man. This anniversary of the iconic yellow ball was celebrated by Google in the last week of May when it integrated a reproduced version of Pac-Man within its homepage. Now publisher Namco Bandai has revealed dates and details about the new release Pac-Man Party for Wii.

Pac-Man Party

Bundling plenty of surprises, challenges and mini-games, Pac-Man features in the new endeavour a birthday party theme. The Wii Remote will allow players to employ their ability and impulses with an effortless in-game control via pick-up-and-play style of the title. Unconfined with any age limitations for enjoyment, Pac-Man Party will include over fifty exciting mini-games and eight characters counting the newcomers, Roger, Patra and Woofa. Time-based trials range from dodging a cascade of blocks to racing and sheep shearing challenges.

Three modes of play can be selected from according to player’s choice, namely Story, Mini-Game and Party mode. While Story mode lets them protect Mr. Cookie’s secret recipe as well as travel around all the game board worlds, Mini-game mode presents a quick fix for the ones who would like to compete in a jiffy rather than lengthier indulgence. Moreover, the Party mode is as much fun as it gets, where gamers have to vie for collecting the most points against up to three of their friends across different boards in the virtual realm.

The fastest road to victory in the Pac-Man Party world would be laid down with augmenting riches by tactically expanding one’s property which will eventually notch up the ante for other players. Differing from conventional board games, players will battle for ownership via challenges in case anyone sets foot on a place that is already in possession of another. Power Cookies can be used during each mini-game to enlarge a character’s size or put extra energy and pace behind each attempt which is said to motivate huge strike backs which would balance a competitive play.

Packaging additional bonuses such as the original arcade version of Pac-Man featuring a Classic mode as well as games like Dig-Dug and Galaga, Pac-Man Party is scheduled to retail across Asia-Pacific and Europe from November 26, 2010. No pricing details have been reported as of now.
