Nintendo Announces Mario Sports Mix, Slated for February 2011

Back in 1999, Mario got himself a golf club and headed to greener pastures for showcasing his finesse at putts. Some years ago, he accompanied Sonic at the Olympic Games to splash the gaming area with an athletic essence. Nintendo has revealed that their beloved character is now in a mood for some more sporting action. To serve this wish of the 25-year old, the company has announced Mario Sports Mix which offers multiple playgrounds on a single disc.

Unfolding a stadium for basketball, dodgeball, hockey and volleyball, this oncoming title will instill a Mario twist into each of these plays. In the game, players can take up the role of not only Mario but several other characters from the Mushroom kingdom. They also have the opportunity of challenging Mario and his friends by donning the garb of a Mii character. The incorporated Mushroom kingdom power-ups such as mini mushrooms, banana peels and green shells hold the ability for turning tables by putting players into a tizzy or pulling them out of the knock out zone.

The company has stated that the title will enable gamers to play matches at distinct venues including the Wario Factory and Peach’s Castle. Whether players wish to score goals across conveyor belts or put up a stern volley amidst fountains, they can gear up for a match with up to four friends. The game supports approximately four players for both local and online modes, allowing them to flaunt their skills by performing Mario’s fire dunk and Yoshi’s rainbow attack.

Mario Sports Mix is expected to hit stores for the Wii on February 7, 2011. The pricing details of the game are still under the shade.
