Toribash, Balloon Pop Festival Available as WiiWare

Nintendo keeps flip-flopping on the strength of its weekly WiiWare line-up, and this week, after quite some time, the Japanese developer and publisher has once again released just a few titles for the platform. This week’s Nintendo Download carries with it just two WiiWare titles including Toribash, a new kind of fighting game, and Balloon Pop Festival.

Balloon Pop Festival

Toribash comes from publisher Nabi Studios and can be played by up to two players. It is an online fighting game which allows players to create any moves they want using precise motion controls. Players can manipulate their fighters’ joints, maximizing impact and ensuring precision hits. A fighter’s speed and strength can be set to slam opponents into the ground. The game even allows players to enter replays at any time to review a segment of a fight and can be played online using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Toribash has been given a teen rating for animated blood and fantasy violence and is available for 1000 Wii Points.

Balloon Pop Festival is a puzzle game in which players have to link a series of balloons, creating combos. The game is from publisher UFO Interactive and is suitable for people of all ages, making use of the Wii Remote’s capabilities. Balloon Pop Festival releases different graphical elements and character costumes to represent each month, and the goal is to score the maximum points before the balloons reach the bottom. Balloon Pop Festival is available for 800 Wii Points.

Nintendo features parental controls so that adults can monitor the content their children can access. Wii Points can be redeemed from Wii Point Cards or purchased in the Wii Shop Channel.
